Though the hinge seemed extremely firm, we were able to pull the tablet out just as easily, after we slid the release latch from left to right.
In our testing, connecting and disconnecting the tablet from the dock was a breeze as we positioned it directly above the hinge and snapped it into place with minimal force. In a questionable decision, HP has placed both the volume rocker and the power button in the upper left and upper right corners of the back panel rather than placing them on the sides as with most other tablets.
